Guelph Public Library Book Clubs

The library facilitates three book clubs, generally meeting during the third week of each month, from September to June. On Monday, the group meets at the Main Library at 10:30 a.m. The Tuesday group meets at the Main Library at 7:00 p.m. On Wednesday, the group meets at the Westminster Square branch at 7:00 p.m. If you are interested in attending, please email us at bookclub@library.guelph.on.ca, and tell us which group you would like to join. The library makes copies of the books to be discussed available to the book club members, so a valid Guelph Public Library card is necessary.

Services for Book Clubs

The library owns more than 90 book club sets which we loan for an extended period to local book clubs. A list of our book club sets can be found here. These sets can be reserved and borrowed for an extended loan period.

If the library doesn´t own a set of books your group wants to read, we will gather enough copies from our branches and other libraries in the province.

If your group is interested in this service, please contact us at bookclub@library.guelph.on.ca or at 824-6220 x 261. We will need the name of the contact person who will take responsibility for the books, the number of members in your group, a list of your meeting dates, and a "wish" list of titles your group would like to read.
