Please check our catalogue before submitting a suggestion.
As a guideline for purchases, staff use the library's material selection policy and critical reviews.
The library reserves the right to defer or decline suggested purchases.
When suggesting a book or ebook...
Please do suggest:
- Titles that are not in our catalogue
- Titles that are not popular new releases
- Titles that have a special focus or relevance such as DIY, travel, biographies, etc.
- Titles from new or little known authors and publishers
Please don't suggest:
- Very popular titles or books by best-selling authors
- Books that are not yet published
- Older titles that are no longer in print (consider having the GPL borrow on your behalf from another library)

When suggesting an audio-visual item...
Please do suggest:
- Classic films (25 years or older) that we missed buying
- Titles that are not popular new releases
- Titles that have a special focus or relevance such as DIY, travel, biographies, etc.
Please don't suggest:
- Newly released movies that are currently in the theatres
- DVDs that have not yet been released
- Older titles that are not available on DVD
- Current television series

IF we purchase the title, we will place a hold for you once it appears in the catalogue.
Holds will not be placed for works by authors that we regularly order (i.e.: Nora Roberts, John Grisham, etc.)
or for audio-visual materials (due to volume).
